DO YOU KNOW?


  • Do you know that reading in dim light does not harm the eyes?
  • Do you know that sitting close to a television set does not actually affect the eyes?  It just shows that you are more comfortable seeing it at a close distance. 
  • Do you know that incorrectly fitted contact lenses can change the shape of the cornea but do not correct myopia? This can cause permanent harm to the eyes.
  • Do you know that all individuals become presbyopic as they age? Presbyopia is the gradual loss of the ability to accommodate, and this occurs irrespective of the person's underlying refractive error. 
  • Do you know that the only part of the eye that can be transplanted is the cornea? The cornea is colourless in all eyes.
  • Do you know that the crystalline lens of the eye doesn't stop growing throughout life?
